## PEPPOL Information

PEPPOL (Pan-European Public Procurement OnLine) is a network for exchanging structured electronic business documents. Since 1 January 2026, structured electronic invoices are mandatory for B2B transactions between Belgian VAT-liable businesses. Invoices to consumers (B2C) are not in scope. A PDF or paper copy may still be sent, but only the structured electronic invoice is the legal invoice. In Belgium it is exchanged, in principle, via the Peppol network. InvoSys sends and receives those invoices. The customer remains responsible for the invoice content and for keeping invoices during the legal retention period.
